Getting Around Ormoc: A Self-Drive Guide
Ormoc City, on Leyte’s western coast, is the usual jump-off point for Lake Danao – about 18 kilometers northeast, roughly a half-hour drive along the San Pablo-Tongonan and Milagro-Lake Danao roads.
The guitar-shaped lake sits within the 2,193-hectare Lake Danao Natural Park at 650 meters above sea level, and is popular for kayaking, swimming, and fishing from its floating cottages, with hiking trails circling the shoreline.
Closer to the city, Baybay Beach offers an easier stop for sun and seafood, while experienced hikers sometimes use Ormoc as a base for tackling Alto Peak, the highest point in Eastern Visayas.
Check out our fleet above and get in touch if you’d like route suggestions for your specific itinerary.
